Guitar Circle

Scroll down for details

Date/Time: Thursdays, Jan 30, Feb 6 and Feb 13 from 7-8pm

Location: Arts in Bartlett, 215 S Main St, Bartlett, IL 60103

Cost: $10 includes all three dates

Open to all levels but prefer players who know the basic open chords and the two main bar chord forms, but we won’t turn anyone away. All ages are welcome as long as those in 6th grade or less have a guitar that is sized for their hands and a parent with the child onsite. We ask that everyone else has transportation, or a ride, show up on time as the circle ends promptly at 8pm.

We will focus on strumming to start. People with Electrics or Basses only would be welcome but you would need your own amp if you wanted to plug in and keep volume low enough to not overpower the rest of the acoustic players. We recommend that each player brings a tuner and a backup set of strings as strings break and go out of tune.

To start we will spend some time playing through the open chord forms and two main bar chord forms and then work on playing songs. After you sign up you will be sent the cord forms and a few simple strum-able pieces like early Eagles songs to get us started. If you have a song you would like to play feel free to bring it in.  Singing is not required but if you would like to sing you are welcome to. We ask that all players are patient and respectful of everyone in the circle as we may have a wide range of ability; the goal is to have fun, learn from others, and have a place to play.

Payment is required prior to the first class. The cost is a one-time $10 non-refundable charge that covers all three weeks. If the teacher needs to move a class due to weather or other circumstances, we will notify all participants ahead of time, but we will insure that we hold three classes. If you have any questions prior to signing up use button below to email Steve.
