New Watercolor Classes by Jenny Vogt

You asked for it and now we have it! Adult painting classes by noted watercolor and pastel artist, Jenny Vogt. You have probably seen her amazing bird and nature pastels in Arts in Bartlett and other fine art galleries. Jenny is a graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design and teaches at local venues, including Hanover Township.

 Here are the dates for Jenny Vogt’s “Fun Watercolor Classes” teaching techniques to create your own painting with liquid watercolors. All supplies and inspiration are provided.  Click here to download a full description and registration form.

 Monday, May 15, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. “Monet’s Water Lilies” with liquid watercolor

Monday, May 22, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. “Paint the Desert” with liquid watercolor

$20 for Arts in Bartlett members; $35 for nonmembers. If you are member, you can bring up to 3 friends at the member price. You can pay with debit, credit card or PayPal below or follow check instructions on the registration form.

Annual Member Show

For the13th year, Arts in Bartlett features its members in the Annual Members Show in an exhibit at Bartlett Village Hall, 228 S. Main.  This year’s exhibit will be on display in the 2nd Floor Gallery from April 3 through May 5  with a free artist reception from 6-7 pm on Tuesday, April 18.

Feb/March/April Quilt Exhibit from the Prairie Star Quilter’s Guild

We are excited to present this show in cooperation with this prominent guild, which will focus on “art” quilts. The guild and Arts in Bartlett members will also have boutique items for a unique shopping experience. The gallery is open Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday 10 to 5 and Friday noon to 6 pm. This exhibit closes April 30. 

Soliciting works for May- July

"Faraway Places" exhibit at Arts in Bartlett for May-July coincides with the International Festival, which is in the planning phase right now for June 2017. Keep working on your artwork for "Faraway Places". This theme can be interpreted anyway you'd like! Think distant countries, vacation, outer space, inner space, imagined worlds... All media are eligible.Click here to down load the application form and hanging requirements. Art should be brought into the Arts Center, 215 S. Main, April 24-28. 

 Looking ahead so you can be working now on works for future exhibits: 

August/September/October: 'All Creatures Great and Small" From the mammoth to the microbe: finned, feathered, furred, floating, flying, or fantasy. All creatures and media are welcome!To be paired with a pet event for Bartlett Heritage Days, Sept. 9. 

November/December/January 2018: "Timbre: The Color of Sound" Timbre is the character or quality of a musical sound or voice as distinct from its pitch and intensity. Interpret this however you'd like! Find your inspiration in music, musicians, and musical instruments.

February, March, April 2018: "On A Grand Scale" Think big! Here's your opportunity to work large or make a big impact!

Then join us for this month's gathering the 3rd Tuesay of each month. The next networking gathering is Tuesday, April 18 at 7:00 pm with place to be determined.
